John Micheal “Mickey” Engelhart

Mickey was born in Albuquerque New Mexico, he moved to BC in the early 50s. He worked in the Vanderhoof area as a rancher/cowboy where he met and married Elizabeth Lerum in June 1956.

In 1966 he moved his family to High Lonesome Ranch south of Houston BC, he worked as a guide in Ootsa lake area as well as working at local mines In the area.

Mickey ranched in the Owen Lake area until 1986 when he moved to another ranch on the Bonaparte river south of Clinton BC. In 1996 he retired and remained in the Clinton area. 

Mickey is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 61 years, 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. 

He will be missed by his family who all carry many fond memories of him and are willing to share stories about his life with anyone who has a minute to listen.
