HOOPER, Joseph Alan “Joe,
passed away peacefully in Vanderhoof on May 14, 2006 at the age of 82 year. Joe has left a legacy of Family, Music, Laughter, Love and Memories. Survived by his loving wife Cleo. Sons: Terry (Sue) Hooper, Joe (Debbie) Hooper, Jim (Darlene) Hooper. Daughters: Wendy (Jack) Haslam, Lynn (Ken) Ginter. Grandchildren Jack (France) Haslam, Laura (Ben) MacRae, Angie (Lee) Hyokki, Chris Hooper, Jeff (Rachel) Hooper, Graydon Hooper (Sarah), Kirsten Hooper (Kevin), Ron Gerz, Jennifer Gerz (Shane), Candice Ginter (Donny), Jared Ginter, Jade Ginter, Pam (Teddy) Puska, Patricia (Kris) Dashwood, Haley Hooper, Jillian Hooper. Great Grandchildren Kaleb & Dylan Haslam,Sydney MacRae, Lucas & Jessie Woodruff, Cassidy Hyokki, Jorden Hooper, Madison Ginter, Taylor & Brooklyn Puska, Brittney & Savana Dashwood. Sister: Sue Frost. A memorial service was held at the Vanderhoof Fire Hall on May 18, 2006. Arrangements entrusted to Grace Memorial Funeral Chapel, Vanderhoof, BC.
I saw Grampa last night,
Standing tall and strong
Watching over me,
As I played a song.
But then I woke,
And realized
This was a dream,
Tears filled my eyes.
I sat there in,
The morning sun.
Remembering him,
And all he had done.
Grampa taught me,
How to play
Upon his organ,
One rainy day.
It hadn’t been a dream,
It was a memory
Something no one
Can take from me.
He is not gone,
He shall never be.
For in all of us
There’s a part of he.
In some his smile,
In some his wit.
The things he taught us,
We will never forget.
Look at his children,
His grandkids too.
He is till there,
Shining through.
Through generations
He’ll continue on,
With tales of Grampa,
His legacy,
We build upon.
I saw Grampa last night,
Standing tall and strong.
He has not left,
He is not gone.
