May 31, 1938 - February 27, 2021
In Loving Memory of Lawrence Clemence Stark (Larry) ~ Born 31st of May 1938, in Empress, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home in Vanderhoof on the 27th of February, 2021.
Larry grew up in the small prairie town of Mendham, Saskatchewan. He completed high school at St. Thomas
College before going on to the University of Saskatchewan where he completed a BSc in Pharmacy, class of 1965. He then moved to Quesnel, 100 Mile House and finally Vanderhoof, where he spent the rest of his life in the community he loved.
He owned and operated the Vanderhoof Drugstore and, later, People's Drug Mart for many years and became a big part of the community.
Larry was always genuinely happy to see everyone and always had a smile or some ongoing joke to share. He was a real character who loved crosswords, the Roughriders, the Blue Jays, and the Maple Leafs; he never gave up hope on the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup again. He will be remembered for driving around to check on his town, his great laugh, and many smiles.
Larry is survived by his children, Dana and Trevor, grandson Evan, Candy and Brian, Irene, stepbrother Martin Moser, sisters in law, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents George Stark, Gertrude Moser, stepfather John Moser, his three brothers John, Nick, and Eddie, and his son in law Jim Eadie.
We will try to hold a gathering for Larry in the summer. In Memory of Larry please make someone smile or share a laugh with them.
