HOOPER (Lintott) Leslie Storey

01 April ‘27 - 04 August ‘06

Left us suddenly to be with his predeceased son Richard. Only 2 weeks ago he tended to his garden who’s bounty was enjoyed by many. Les was born and raised in Vancouver, and attended John Oliver High and UBC. He was an avid outdoorsman and passionate gardener, and loved reading and sports. He was co-founder of Advance Foundry and retired to Sinkut View Ranch, Vanderhoof to pursue his love of wide open spaces. His last 4 years were spent in the Upper Fraser Valley. He will be remembered for his sense of humour.

The Hooper family gratefully acknowledge the compassionate care of Dr. Wong and the staff of the Fraser Valley Cancer Clinic. Les is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorine; sons John and David (Colleen), daughter Lynne; grandchildren John, Debra (Doug), Jennifer (Doug), Andrea (John), Matthew, Sarah (Tyler); 9 great-grandchildren; his sister Joan (Bill); sister-in-law Grace; brother-in-law Leslie, and his faithful companion Hunter.

A Celebration will be held in Les’ garden September 2nd. RSVP to lynne_hooper@shaw.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwest Harvest, Box 1907, Hope, BC V0X 1L0.

And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?” by Kahil Gibran
