September 27, 2006

Marjorie was born to Walter and Hannah Bray in Brandon, Manitoba. After graduation from high school she worked in a fashionable jewelry store in Brandon. In 1944 she volunteered for the Red Cross in a canteen on the Souris Air Force Base near Brandon. It was there that she met her lifelong partner, Lawrence Snyder, known as ‘Slim’ to his friends. Their war time romance lead to marriage on June 26, 1945. In 1956 Marj and Slim, and their children moved to Mapes, BC to be close to Slim’s mother and step-father. Marj was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In June of 1999 Marj’s continuing decline with Alzheimer’s disease necessitated that she be placed in care. Marj was cared for at the Omineca Lodge, Stuart Nechako Manor, and finally at Stuart Lake Hospital where she passed away on September 27, 2006. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, brother Jim Bray and beloved husband Slim. She leaves to mourn her brother Bill Bray of Red Lake, Ontario and her children and their spouses: Joan (Bob) Mumford, David (Lyndia) Snyder, Brian (Mavis) Snyder, Paul (Leslie) Snyder, Susan (Bob) Berry, Janet (Manu) Madhok, Dean (Misty) Snyder, 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
