Martin Daniel Walker passed away at age 68, peacefully at home on August 12, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family in Vanderhoof, B.C.

Martin is survived by his wife Jeannie; Daughter Jody (Michel) Cassista; Daughter Christine Whitehouse (Kurt Lascheit);
Grandchildren Paige Geernaert (James Armstrong); Shae-Lynn Geernaert (Cody Gomke); Cole Geernaert (Aliyah Brochu); Stevey Lascheit (Joey Maisonneuve); Chad Lascheit (Jocelyn Myran); Great- grandchildren Liam Lascheit, Sawyer Maisonneuve and Ryder Maisonneuve; Siblings Edward (Vilena) Walker; Jessie Frei; George Walker (Marlene Colbear); Gordon (Karen) Walker; Helen (James) Muir; Aunt Colleen MacDonald, Brother-in-law/Sister- in-law Brian and Denyse Chase, Sister-in-law Kathy Walker and numerous Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Friends and his buddy Wilson the Cat.
Predeceased by his parents, Gus and Mary Walker; Brother Bernie Walker; Brother-in- law Kurt Frei and Son-in-law Dale Geernaert.
He loved farming and being outdoors. He spent many hours lovingly building the family ranch with his wife, daughter, son-in law and grandchildren.
He happily passed down a lot of knowledge to all of us wanted or not (i.e., painting walls 101, driving lessons to Mario Andretti Junior, setting the bleeping clock on the VCR, teaching dogs to fly and telling his wife how to cook).
He was known for his love of talking and would spend hours on the phone with family and friends near and far. He was always eager to give everyone life lessons and tips. Up to the time of his passing he was talking, talking, talking and the final words that could be heard were "I love you all", and then his lips were moving to the very end even though no one could hear what he was saying.
After years and years of illness, he is no longer suffering and is now healthy and talking up a storm in heaven.
At Martin's request, there will not be a funeral service. He wanted to be cremated and then brought home.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Dhillon, Nurse Heather Floris and Dr. Makin for their kindness, support and compassion.
