Mary was born in Koniushki, Poland to Stefanida and Lukijan Strebchuk. The Family immigrated to Canada when Mary was a young child.
Mary attended Shadow Creek School and graduated from Peace River Bible Institute in 1947.
On July 8th, 1950 she was united in marriage to Knut Crantz. To this union eight children were born.
They lived a few years in the Hythe, AB area. In 1956 they moved to their own homestead in Tower Lake, BC. She was blessed with great neighbours.
In 1976, the family moved to a small farm on Hassel Road, just outside of Vanderhoof, BC. Mary had running water in her home, for the first time in her life. She was again blessed with wonderful neighbors, and made friends wherever she went.
Mary was a resident of Pleasantview Lodge for the past ten years. She found joy in participating in the daily activities and spending time with old, and new friends.
Mary was a hard working farm woman, she enjoyed gardening, making quilts, and caring for her family, as well as, the many farm animals she had over the years.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Stephen (Helen) Crantz, Lumby BC. Louise (Jason) Clark, Chamberlain SD. Rosemarie (Dale) Toner, High Prairie AB. Sharon (Gerald) Fraser, Taylor BC. Allen (June) Crantz, Fort Fraser BC. Alvina (Mickey) Plowman, Fraser Lake BC. 27 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and sister in law Colleen Strebchuk.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Knut Crantz, infant daughter Rosemarie Crantz, daughter Darlene Rogers, parents Lukijan and Stefanida Strebchuk, brothers Steve and Alex Strebchuk, grandson Christopher Fraser, infant grandchildren Nathan and Amanda Rogers, infant great grandson Austin Toner, daughter in law Valerie Crantz, and son in law Sandy Rogers.
Mary's ashes will be interred at the family cemetery plot in Vahalla, AB.
