Norma Jean Fritchey

September 25, 2019

Born April 14, 1931 in Carstairs, Alberta to parents Ted and Jessie Arnold. The family then returned to live near Salem, Oregon where she spent her early years. Next the family moved to a farm at Mtn. Brook. Washington, where Norma went to school and met her husband, Tom.
Soon after marriage, they began building a farm to raise their children. Kathy and Bob. Seeking better farming opportunities, they moved to Vanderhoof in 1972. Working in partnership, Norma and Tom built the farm to live the rest of their lives on, raising hay and beef. Slowly downsizing the farm in their mid 70's, they were down to two cows when Tom passed in 2016. Norma then moved to Riverside Place and finally to Stuart Nechako Manor, for her last years. Norma lived the life she wanted - farming and caring for her family.
Norma will be loved and missed greatly by son Bob (Sandi), son-in-law Joe Olmstead, granddaughter Jeannie (Mark) Rude, their children Samuel and Thomas; grandson Dell Olmstead (Alva), their children Abegail, Dylan, Alajandra and Arybella; and sister Pinky Holly.
Norma was predeceased by her parents Ted and Jessie Arnold, husband Tom, daughter Kathy Olmstead, sister Nita Schmid and brother Tom Arnold.
