Vesta died peacefully surrounded by her family at Gateway Extended Care Lodge. Vesta was the fourth child of Ruth and Charlie Foote of Fraser Lake, BC. She was born at home in Stellako, BC.
She lived a long full life, enjoying her many travels. She was an artist and the author of the book Pioneer Daughter. We are all proud of her documenting the history of early Fraser Lake settlers, her father and mother. She was predeceased by her first husband, Phil Leslie in 1966, her second husband, Elden Philpott in 2006, her daughter Marie Kump, in 2014 and her daughter-in-law, Karen Leslie in 2015. Vesta is survived by her children and step children, Chuck ( Eileen) Leslie, David (Karen deceased) Leslie, Ian (Diane) Leslie, Andria (Dave) Reid, Rod (Riki) Philpott, Sheila (Glenn) Ray, Bernie (Bonnie) Philpott, Richard Philpott, Gerry (Bill deceased) Burton and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the amazing staff at Gateway Lodge for the wonderful care over the past three and a half years. A celebration of life will be held later at a time to be determined.
