It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susann Lavon Borth announce her passing on June 13, 2022, in Vanderhoof, BC.
Susann was born on July 16,1941, in Lincoln, Nebraska, lived in Kansas for many years and then moved to Vanderhoof with her husband Clark, 3 children, 100 head of Charolais cattle, a dog and a cat in 1973.
Susann had many talents and pursued many great adventures. She was an accomplished musician, playing the piano since she was 3 years old and played for church services, weddings and funerals. She was instrumental in the formation of the Vanderhoof Blue Mountain Flyers and the formation of the first Vanderhoof Air Shows, was part owner and manager of the Gang Ranch near Williams Lake and was political assistants for a US Senator and BC MLA.
She was also an office manager, bookkeeper, rancher and farmer managing their businesses of Borth Charolais and White River Contracting. During her earlier years in Vanderhoof she worked at Co-op Hardware, Plateau Mills office, Hazel's bookkeeping and Avison Management. Susann and her husband Clark moved to Kamloops in 2000 to retire in a warmer climate. They enjoyed camping and gardening and were members of the Vintage Car Club and active members in their church.
Susann moved back to Vanderhoof in 2021 to be closer to her family. Susann battled breast cancer for her last 10 years. She was always positive throughout.
Susann is survived by her children David (Shelly), Lori (Wayne), Timothy (Jillian), grandchildren Serene (Andrew), Brenden (Krystal), Rachelle (Devon), Erin (Greg), Taylor (Nick) Riley and Logan and great grandchildren Andi Jo and Liam.
Susann was predeceased by her husband Clark and her parents Cecil and Verna Brookshire.
A memorial service will be held for Susann on July 16, 2022, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 815 Renfrew Ave in Kamloops at 2:00 pm. Susann had an immense love for animals. In lieu of flowers donations to the BCSPCA in Susann's memory are greatly appreciated.
