Terry Burgart passed away peacefully at Stuart Lake hospital in Fort St. James, B.C., in the company of his wife Isabelle and their three sons Jacob, Zeke, and Zach.
In 1945, Terry was born in Stettler, Alberta. At the age of ten, Terry and his brothers and sisters moved to their new home on Stuart Lake. Here is where Terry made a life for himself. In 1972, at the groovy age of 27, Terry met Isabelle. Little did they know that they would be spending the next 31 years together. It was only two years after they met that they were the proud parents of Zeke and Zach, the first twin boys born in Fort St. James.
They never ceased to amaze their parents especially eating and then plunking there heads into California beach sand. Terry cherished every new thing his boys would do and did just about anything for them. Only four years later he was blessed with another boy Jacob who turned a pair into an unbreakable trio.
Terry worked hard as a faller to support this family. He made sure to take time off to take his boys hunting, fishing and even trapping up in Germanson Lake. They spent several wonderful years in their cabin on Germanson Landing. That was and is Terry’s favourite place on earth.
There is a long list of the things we remember Terry loved to do. Like playing golf with his friends on the golf course or in comfort of his home on the Nintendo with his sons. Terry also loved to go boating, play bingo, hunt or just relax on one-mile hill. Most of all we remember Terry’s unconditional love for his grandchildren Tori, Rya, Gavin, and Zayda.
Terry was a very unique and loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly mourned and missed by all who had the wonderful pleasure of truly knowing him. The services for Terry will be held on Saturday September 4., 2004 at 1:00pm Kwah Hall, Fort St. James, B.C. Assman’s Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
