YOUNGER, Trudy (Gertrude)

(nee Penner) Passed away suddenly at home in Seattle on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the age of 36 years. Left to mourn her passing is her devoted husband of 8 years, Matt Younger, her mother Sarah Penner, brothers Pete (Joanne) and Richard (Bonnie) sisters: Agnes Berg, Sarah (Alvin) Wiebe, Susan, Kathy (Bert) Koop, and Jennifer (Duff Reid), grandmother Katherine Teichroeb, parents-in-law Frank and Sharon, brother-in-law Thomas (Tamara), sister-in-law Pauline (Mike), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Trudy was predeceased by father, Ben, in 2001. Trudy was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on February 13, 1970 and moved with her family to Vanderhoof, B.C. in 1975, where she started elementary school at W.L. McLeod. She graduated from Nechako Valley Secondary School in 1988, and then moved to Victoria to attend Camosun College. She continued to take college/university courses while working as librarian’s assistant and in the tourist industry in both Victoria and Vancouver. Following their marriage in 1998, both Matt and Trudy developed a love for traveling to Latin America as well their regular camping trips. Despite various health complaints, Trudy maintained a zest for life, and loved to socialize with friends. Trudy was devoted to helping friends and family whenever she could, and always had room for one more friend in her life. She loved children and will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration took place in Victoria on Saturday, September 23, at the Solstice Cafe, 529 Pandora Ave., starting at 4:30.
