Dickson – Valerie Patricia (nee Adams) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Dickson
on August 13, 2008. She died peacefully, surrounded
by close family at White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Pat was born in Fort Fraser on July 25, 1941 and spent most of her life in the Vanderhoof area. Always the free spirit and happiest outside, some of
Pat’s fondest memories were with family at her
property on Fraser Lake. She also thoroughly enjoyed
her time on the golf course, in the garden and anywhere outside. In recent years, Pat called White Rock home where
she moved to be closer to her daughter Denise and help with the special needs of one of her grandchildren. She was very happy in White Rock enjoying walks along Crescent
Beach and participating in fitness programs at the local pool. Pat is survived by her son Ken (Debbie) Dickson,
daughter Denise (David) Ure, sisters Sylvia (Ken) Clay and Joy Dickson, brother Dick (Anne) Adams and her precious
grandchildren Kyle, Nicole and Christopher. She was predeceased by her parents Archie and Ruby Adams. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Mabie and the competent and compassionate staff of Peace Arch Hospital for their care
over the past few weeks. There will be no service at Pat’s request. Her ashes will be spread at one of her favourite spots – Gala Bay on Fraser Lake. In lieu of fl owers, Pat has
asked that donations be made to the upcoming Walk Now for Autism; an event supporting autism research in which she had herself planned to participate. Donations can be
made online in favour of “Team Christopher” for the October 19 walk via the website at www.walknowforautism.
org. Our team site can be accessed by scrolling down to the Burnaby, B.C. event and then searching for “Team
Christopher” and choosing “In Memory of Pat Dickson” or by mail, quoting the same team to Autism Speaks Canada,
