ODELL, Violet May of West Kelowna, BC passed away peacefully on September 5, 2009 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband Reg in 1999 and son David in 1970. Vi and her husband Reg loved the North and spent many years in Vanderhoof, BC. She worked at the Vanderhoof Post Office until her retirement in 1984 and then relocated to Kelowna to be closer to family.

Left to never forget her and to respect her life and all of her strengths, are daughters; Sandra, Maureen, Ellen, Melanie, sons; Gordon and Dana, brothers; Mart and Leonard, loving and helpful sons-in-law and daughters-in law as well as numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Vi would remind us to always love and care for one another and that we are FAMILY. She would tell us to face life with courage and to never forget your funny stories, as they WILL make someone laugh one day. Vi will be missed by the staff at the Village of Smith Creek who lovingly cared for her and became her true friends. Her family thanks them immensely. Interment will be in the Peachland Cemetery on Thursday, September 10, 2009 followed by a Celebration of Vi’s life, officiated by Pastor Les Hamm. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Hanson's Arbor Funeral Home.
