Walter Samuel Einarson

Sept. 20, 1933 to Oct. 20, 2013

It is with deep sadness that the family of Walter Samuel Einarson announce his passing Oct. 20, 2013 after a long battle with colon cancer.

He was born to Edna and Einar Einarson on Sept. 20, 1933 in Red Deer Alberta. He lived his early years there and moved to BC in the mid 60’s where he remained till his passing. He made his living working in the bush running heavy equipment. His gentle nature made him a desirable employee, because he could run the most fragile equipment, and make it do what was necessary without damage or break-down.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gail, two sons, Steve and Rob (Kelly), two grandchildren, Toren, and Patricia, a sister and brother-in-law, nieces and nephew, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Edna and Einar Einarson.

Walter was born in Alberta and his heart never left. His desire was always to return to Alberta, and according to his wishes he is being buried in his “home” town of Benalto.

Special thanks to his cancer doctor, Dr Campbell, and his family doctor, Dr. Gus Van Der Spuy who guided him through his illness, and nurse Chona Dick who made trips to the cancer clinic (almost) fun. And a special thanks to Dr. Muir who made the initial diagnosis which prolonged his life by several years. Thanks to you all.
