Willis Leonard James McLeod

February 16, 1931 – February 28, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness, but also sincere reverence, that we announce the passing of W.L.”Bill” McLeod.
His amazing spirit (and the many entertaining stories) will live on with his wife, Judy; their children, Malcolm, Kevin, Warren and Penny; the spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his entire extended family, his friends, his colleagues, his students, and his audiences far and wide… as well as with his namesakes in Vanderhoof, B.C.
W.L. McLeod Elementary School and W.L. McLeod Wetlands.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
-Original Poem by Clare Harner, 1934
