Four athletes from Vanderhoof will taking to the ice from February 20-23 for the B.C. Winter Games.

Connor Ebert, 12, has been speed skating for almost as long as he's been able to stand and he is really excited to compete in the 500 metre race.

Emily Prestmo, 13, is thrilled and nervous to be going to Mission soon and has upped her training in preparation. Her favourite event is the 400 metre race because it is just the right amount of time and distance for her. She has been skating for four years.

Jessica Sewell, 15, will also be heading off to Mission soon too, her favourite event is the 1,500 metre race because she likes to be able to see all the racers competing. She said that she has always found the sport to be intriguing, preferring the solo nature of the event.

Matthew Ebert, 15, will also be going to the Winter Games but he was unavailable for a photograph. Matthew recently took his second gold medal at the Provincial Long Track Championships in Fort St. John on January 25-26.
